With rising inequality and environmental degradation has come the growing realisation that social change is not only the duty of governments and private individuals, but also the responsibility of corporations. Singapore is placing increasing emphasis on CSR, with events such as the Champions of Good recognising local businesses that practice good giving. To quote Minister Heng Swee Keat, “Corporate giving these days is not just a business practice, but an integral part of how companies engage stakeholders and inspire their employees.”
