Synopsis
According to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Safe Cities Index 2019, Singapore was rated as the world’s second safest city in the world. Most people view the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) as the main organizations that ensure law and order in the country. However, despite the importance of SPF’s frontline policing, there are many more lesser known functions and segments in the sector of law enforcement – such as technology integration, policy development and international collaborations. In addition, with the introduction of the Security Industry Transformation Map by MHA in 2018, many initiatives were rolled out to develop relevant skills and support broad-based adoption of market-ready technological solutions.
